If we want to be a witness of God's power, we must first do what He says to do, and show others the fruit that comes from serving Him. We do this by keeping our minds constantly on Jesus Christ. We must still handle the business of everyday life, but we are not to let the affairs of the world pull us down.

I think nothing would hit me as hard as when my family is down with sicknesses. Or even worst, death.
It is really cruel to think (logically) that God would actually make us grow old, wither and eventually leave this place, probably without our parents around?
On the other hand, God is so good. He's already prepared the heavens for us.. right up there where we can live a perfect life with God. That's really comforting for us christians but what about our closest people who don't know Jesus?
oh well, I really hope that we would cherish the people around us especially our close ones. You'll never know if there's a tomorrow.

Had this thought since my friend and I were talking about parents passing away due to cancer. Sad thought... And it is really hard to comprehend that people (MG) would actually lie that they've a terminal disease? It's really sad and shocking seriously..... Healer is still a powerful song though. Forgive.

it's been 2 weeks since i last blogged.....
there's been lots on my mind until one day in a lecture, my lecturer showed us a youtube video, featuring a young and pretty girl who worked at Telstra as a top call centre sales person but ended up committing suicide because of the pressure Telstra had been putting on her to sell.
the thing is, when the psychologist mentioned the 4 signs of workplace stress;
1. unable to concentrate (ticked)
2. become anti-social (ticked)
3. behave erratically (ticked!)
4. have trouble remembering things (tick, tick, ticked!!!)

i was practically screaming inside....... that's ME facing study-place stress!!

AFTER a difficult year, we thought smooth sailing was ahead. And it was - temporarily. We had moved five times in five years, and I could sense the winds of change starting to blow again. Uneasiness began to run through my veins as I fought off nagging fears of the unknown. Following a recent death in our family, I was facing money problems in addition to serious health concerns of my own. Instead of taking comfort in God's promises, it was too easy to panic as life moved us out of our comfort zone.
Any time struggles come, we may view their very presence as a sign of something wrong. After all, can't all difficulties be avoided by following the commands in the Bible? No. God doesn't guarantee us a trouble-free life. Truly living for God means we can expect to encounter some difficult situations. Nonetheless, we can rest in the promise that God will be with us every step of the way.
True, we can avoid many problems by following God's laws; but we can't control everything. God, however, always has a plan for our lives. This plan is meant to bless us and give us hope for the future. Whenever doubt threatens to cloud God's promises, we can know that, no matter the circumstance, we are always in God's care.

So sorry guys I'm like flooding my own blog right now.

I thought i'll be nice and informative to let people know how I'm doing right now!

Entering my 3rd week of uni and I'm sort of enjoying it I guess.. can't wait for the easter break to come! I've met pretty interesting people at uni and seriously, some of them talk real fast. And they're are really competitive. All the combined degrees, triple majors etc. I guess it's good pressure so that I can really push myself. One really happy thing in my whole 3 weeks of stay in Sydney is.......... my parents are contemplating on coming over for a holiday! That means good food during exam period. HAHA.
I hope Big Sunday will be a success once again.

God gives power to the weak.

This is what one of the colour conference speakers talked about.

Psalm 33. God is bigger than anything else! Seriously, can you imagine how God manage to create the whole of milky way, the solar system with all the humongous planets. God just holds on to us whenever we're down on our knees. He's like the protein molecule, laminin, which holds on to everything which is attached to our body. This laminin is a real tough molecule to be seen on photo. So, let me describe it a little.
Laminins are the major non-collagenous component of the basal lamina, such as those on which cells of an epithelium sit.[1] They are a family of glycoproteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue. Laminins are secreted and incorporated into cell-associated extracellular matrices.
Having a headache now? Well, the crux of this whole description is that this protein molecule hangs on to the whole of our body (the flesh, bones, muscles, nerves etc) so that we can stand, move etc. I suppose any molecular biologist would know that. And what's so amazing about it is..... it has a shape of a cross when seen with a microscope! It is like the cross where Jesus died on and it is still holding on to us and God. (Isaiah 40)

You know what? God is just so awesome. I feel so loved and I hope I'll never forget or take that for granted. He made me realised that there is a cause for me to be right here in sydney. I met wonderful christian girls and fantastic apartment mates when I thought this move was so wrong. (I'm definitely not forgetting you girls back in newcastle okay?!)

Women's colour conference is indescribable. Though I'd to wake up like 6am each morning for the past 2 days, it's simply mind-blowing. It's a great place to be at because........................

you see an awful lot of women! They're so friendly, so chirpy and imagine hearing just women's voices during praise and worship.

The speakers were just so funnny. Funny till a point where God is so emphasized in our everyday life.

The conference was all about sisterhood. Showing how important women are in this world; showing how amazing women can be in handling things which men can't do at all. We're God's princesses! (meaning: we're very very rare and precious jewels in God's eyes. each and everyone of us, LADIES!)

I was reading through Isa 55 (all thanks to Dene) and I could see so clearly the purpose that all christians should have in their lives.
And this verse popped up,
Matthew 7:7 - Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
I've been missing out too much. I've been digging around my life but not for Him.
Isaiah 55:2 - Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labour on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare.
That's so true. Nothing beats more than receiving satisfaction. Not just any kind of satisfaction, but from Him.
Don't procrastinate any longer!
I can't help but say, I'm really expecting lots from the women's conference tomorrow!

I went to Hillsong (city) for their 9.30am service yesterday and it was a much much smaller congregation compared to the one I've been at the hills. Less overwhelming, fantastic talk by a zoologist ( I can't remember his name) and very friendly hillsongers. That's what the zoologist talked about and quoting mostly from, 1Corinthians,
Persuasion requires reason.
1. Seeking God is required and rewarded. (Deut 4:29)
2. Finding God is inevitable. (Isa 55:6)
3. Discovering God is possible. (James 4:8)
And there's this part where he mentioned, 'we seek God because we're made in the image of Him and also we're spiritual beings, and therefore we seek God for satisfaction.' (Acts 17:24)
This really made me ponder about why we could come up with the whys and hows from our studies but not about God.
It's time to think.
It's time to seek.
And it'll be given to you.
That's why I've decided to go for Hillsongs Colour (women's) conference and their live album recording! Endorphinized! (if there's such a word)
A call from a distant friend really warmed my heart.
Don't hesitate, call, text, msn, email, send a card, write a letter..... everything matters.

I know it's really late for new year resolutions but I've got to write these down. Too much time is wasted!
Recently my pastor has been preaching about us having compassion for the poor, needy and strangers. It is hard. And the weird thing is ever since I'm back to singapore, I've realised the number of foreigners, especially chinese from china, has increased much more. It's really not easy. Not at all.

There goes....
1. I want to be filled with God's compassion.
2. I want to be a God's servant. (I've been wasting too much time)
3. I want to fulfill the ten commandments as much as I can.
4. I want to do better, much better in my studies.
5. I want to be someone who shines out of the rest.
6. I want to be remembered by close friends in singapore.
7. I want my 21st birthday to be special.
8. I want my driving license.
9. I want to go to Japan and Hong Kong.
10. I want to get married! (that's to make up the numbers. hehe)

The pictures are a little messed up though.

Saw me sitting down there in front of a christmas tree? ya that's the lobby of a hotel I've stayed in Lisbon. Pretty massive 4-star hotel.

The pictures right there in the middle show some portuguese desserts, seafood and these huge drumsticks. They actually slice the ham thinly and consume them raw. Not exactly raw but after it's been smoked. It tasted horrible though. Right after the city shopping, we went to this palace which i saw this amusing door with the knob right there in the middle. Cute eh?

I'm off to Fatima! sounds like the name of your maid back home eh? NO! It's a suburb, seriously! The first 2 pictures show the Shrine of Fatima where apparitions of Lady Mary were reported during WW1. Day 1

Depart from Singapore to Turkey by Turkish airlines. (terrible airlines, don't ever take that!)

Waited for 5 hours to transit to Portugal, Lisbon.

Above are photos taken in Lisbon. The first 2 photos were taken in Lisbon aeropurto (airport) and the third one is the bullfight ring. Just to let you know, there's a bullfight ring in every city in Spain.

Finally, back home in singapore! 2 weeks worth of photos coming up. stay tuned because it'll take me some time to post all up with captions. on the whole, this trip was strenuous. seriously! sleeping at 12am and waking up at 7am, walking and having meals late in Spain (spaniards have lunches at 2-3pm and dinners at 9-10pm) and of course, the horrible cold winter... all these round up to my new year resolution - EXERCISE MORE.
I realise ever since I've stepped into the big 20, I feel easily burnt out. physically. I used to walk non-stop from 3-9pm in town without grumbling. Just can't imagine how aged I am now. I wonder why too, that I get sick easily. I vomitted and had fever on the night when I was back in singapore. Indigestion. Horrible.

What should I do?

Christmas is coming. I hope every christian will not forget the real purpose of this significant occasion. It's a day of celebration to remember the birth of Jesus Christ.

It's been great meeting up with friends and church people. Great suppers (Ian and Chuanming are pretty safe drivers), nice game of monopoly, fun mahjong session (2 more to go before I leave for Spain), karaoke sessions and many great meals. Thanks for all the love, pals.

I need more patience, love, understanding and forgiveness. God gives opportunities for me to be patient, loving, understanding and forgiving. Thank you, Lord.

Pouring out there right now. feel so cold and drowsy. that's when I tend to have hunger attacks. well, probably not hunger but I just need something to munch. With good food almost everyday back home in Singapore (with much help from my mum), I think I would gain a few good kilos. On top of that, the Spain & Portugal trip would help to add a few more. You know, it happens. especially during winter.

I've been reading the book Knowing God by J.I.Packer. I suppose I haven't reached the crux of the book but I have been learning or rather, realising some points which many people and myself, have been missing out in our daily lives. Chiristianity is seriously a difficult religion/lifestyle to lead. It just gets more complicated (or supposedly clearer?). I remembered a friend of mine asking me this question, "how did you come to know God and become a Christian?' Seriously, I can't find a definite answer. But now, I think I know. Thank God.

Canberra

Canberra made me fall in love with Thirsty Merc. esp the song, Those Eyes. mm mmm mmmm. (Eric)

Canberra was fun. especially with amazing ppl around.
10 of us. me, eric, dav, yeeman, hez, jess, kb, kim, cindy and hl.
thank God we reached safely. thanks hez, dav and eric for driving me and yeeman around.
and of course, all thanks to the mummy jess who planned EVERYTHING. (she's a walking GPS)

1st day
started out at 9am.
dav drove to oriumbah to get yeeman.
stopped at parramatta for lunch. biggest westfield in oz.
made a detour to a resting area where we saw a hill full of lavender.
took starry photos. heh
finally, canberra.
made rounds and rounds around the new parliament house.
went around many many embassies. MANY
saw singapore's high commission building. took a photo.
posed outside the old parliament house with hair flying around.
drove to a seaside. found duckies which looked exactly like those around bara.
boobies mimicked duckies' quacks. he's sooooo good. especially the donald duck one.
went to the art museum. outside only.
made rounds around ANU. pretty stern looking buildings. nobody at all. look boring though.
had italian dinner. spinach ravioli. mm mmm mmm.
dangerous mummy jess dropped a fork on my pretty indian dress. well, i got the stain off. phew.
headed back to motel with an unfriendly receptionist.
small motel. 6 beds, 1 bathroom.
slept at 12am.

2nd day
woke up at 830am.
those 3 guys, dav, boobies and hez were sound asleep at their friend's place. called many many times. lazy peeps.
went parliament house. again? well, we went into the house and up the top.
grassy area. very pretty view.
floriade. that's what we're there for. pretty tulips. dying but still very pretty and blooming.
nice sand castles made of sand of course, water and glue mixture.
had lunch (char siew rice and 1 piece of duck meat from boobies)
we went to the national dinosaur museum. well, it was only me, yeeman, dav, eric and hez.
the rest went cockington green. the miniature world.
the museum was very, educational. small though. but i've learnt new things.
detoured to somewhere with many many flags. we saw this plain, green flag with only 2 lines across. so lazy.
we took many arty farty photos at a jap park. forgot its name.
wanted to take photos at the friendship gate but a lady was playing flute over there.
went up to the telstra tower. it cost us $6. view was breathtaking. wind was so strong we almost got blown away. hair was messy. we were running against the wind and along at the other side. cold cold cold.
inside joke: we were walking in the carpark to get the cars when hez went and stood by the side of a white toyota corolla. (ours was ford fairmont). hez is sooo funny. rem gorrrillla?
had dinner at a japanese restaurant owned by koreans.
i realised koreans just cant make sushi.
i had distorted sushi.
walked around the city centre. it was relatively small. like toa payoh (jono said that).
canberra's chinatown, dickson, was really puny. i wonder how asian students survive over there. no wonder ANU is the top uni in oz.
mount ainsle. woohoo. breathtaking view. even better than telstra tower's night view. and it's F-R-E-E. made strange noises at a bunch of tourists who're students too.
we had supper!
pancake parlour. mm mmm mmmm.
pancakes were awww, so gooooood.
mummy jess ordered apple just juice for $4.90. see, told ya not to order juices.
we had chocolate strawberry jubilee. oh so nice. chocolate pancakes though.
had a few bites from dav's regular pancakes. yummmmy.
iced chocolate was sooo thick and fantasticc!
sweet stuff just make me droooool.
boobies's tummy is gonna expand. remember your jogging!
tiring day. sleeeeeeep.

3rd day
oh so snowy mountain.
headed to the snowy mountain. long long drive. 2-3 hours. once again, thanks guys for driving.
kim made awesome sandwiches in the car.
cheese, ham, lettuce. oh so N&D. she's sooo cute.
SNOW. ICE. COLD. ESKIMO. SNOWMAN. SNOWBALL FIGHT. WET. PAINFUL. SLIPPERY. VERY FUN.
well, i sneakily placed a small ball of ice into boobie's shirt. heh.
mummy jess made a huge snowman. oh no, snowwoman. it has boobs. hahahahaha.
took lotsa photos in the cold.
went back to canberra.
long drive. fun times in the car. chit chats. funny guys.
had dinner at a thai restaurant. nice yellow lotus flower napkins.
headed to KOKO BLACK. (mummy jess said this wrongly for 3 times: jojo black, black jojo and black koko). funny she.
had a cup of hot choco. mm mmm mmmm. max brenner's better.
their ice chocolate's goooood. ice cream in it. wow.
headed to a new motel. carotel i think.
awesome place. huge bathroom. 2 bedrooms. nice living room. oh so nice. chingkui (thankyou as the 3 guys say) mummy jess for finding this motel.
wanted to play mafia but the guys actually fell asleep.
we 4 girls squeezed into a double bed with mummy jess on the floor.

last day
woke up late. oh so 'student'. and ya, feel sorry for hez for losing his skin. (not literally)
went to the old bus depot. a paddy's maket lookalike. expensive stuff though.
bought this indian( ya again, indian) sari butterfly throw-over. it has got 6 different looks of it. it looks fabulous. kim had a black one and mine, light purple. oh so nice.
royal mint. we saw many many gold coins. and we made coins which cost $2.50 each. well, we only pressed a button before the coin dropped out.
we went to the war memorial. looooong walks. interesting though. read lots. tired.
LUNCH FINALLY.
had hokkien mee. mm mmm mmmm.
headed back to newie.
detour: sydney. max brenner's. dinner at superbowl.

FOCUS camp

oh man. this blog is so outdated.
keeping things short.
went for FOCUS camp last last weekend. 28th till 30th sept.
the church we stayed in was a lil run-down, with only a bathroom for 28 peeps. interesting. BUT, there's a judebox, a table tennis table, a soccer table and of course, bedrooms and a kitchen. it's not too bad. the location is good. the marinas was within 5mins walk. we could see the night scenery of nelson bay. woohoo.
I had A-L-O-T of fun hanging around with FOCUS peeps. interesting ppl. very.
the talks were great. although i was falling asleep.....
we talked about 'The Bible Overview". Dene printed out a copy of the complete picture of what the bible is all about.

that was the main stuff but there're lots more. Rachel talked about serving in the ministries. hopefully i would be able to help out in FOCUS in any ways.
well, i kinda missed my bed back in camp but many things kept me back.
-we went to one mile beach and played beach soccer. (i scored 3 goals, all thanks to the guys from my team! esp lake as he pointed to me to stand near the goal. great team work!)
-we had night walks to the marinas and beach. cold and windy but very good conversations with fellow FOCUS ppl.
-we had a bbq on the last night. the walk to the pit was frightening. no lights at all. but had good talks with peeps.
-we had a games' night. played charades and many others. my team didnt lose or win. well, at least we manage to survive.
-we played mafia. had miscommunication though. i realised mafia can be quite frustrating to play.
-we had very nice muffins. not the sweet ones. the ones you find in McD. you know, McMuffins?
one last thing, everyone kinda bonded real well. and we're back home in one piece.
Thank God for everything!

havent been blogging as i just came back from FOCUS camp. FANTASTIC ONEEE!!

23rd sept 2007
since i went back home real late at 330am, i slept in the next day until 1pm. it's pretty reasonable to sleep 9 hours right... i woke up feeling so... restless, tired still, with dark eye circles-totally not feeling like it's my birthday. i only remembered qf telling me in my ears, we shall go out after i come back at 1pm. i was walking around my room like a zombie and doing my assignment because i've 2 due this coming week (starting on 24th). cutting it short, qf said he needed jess's shaver to shave his hair so he drove me to her place to get the shaver before we leave for Gosford. i was wondering we could get the shaver after we're back?? well, of cos i knew there must be some fishes hiding around cos i can smeeeeeeeeell them. and indeed, i saw marcus's car, jeremy's etc. i saw many of them! with alot of foooooood! felt kinda weird being the main highlight for that day. but it was good.. raymond's chicken was gooood! and the thing is, the day before at sydney i helped to get stuff for zw's char kway teow and until now he hasnt paid up! well, thanks guys for all the food. it was very nice!

okay, the next awesome thing is i've got A BOUQUET OF ORCHIDS FROM A BUNCH OF GREAT GIRLS! mich, juns and jess. woohoo! and they're pink!! purplish actually but i was really shocked man. thanks girls!! muacks!

24th sept, FOCUS night

yipeee! FOCUS! FOCUSers are great ppl. so fun to hang out with especially when they've very different personalities. (thank God i went for FOCUS camp) dinner was great that night. we had persian dinner by lish. it was sourish, with sultanas, nuts etc etc. and then, a cake for meee! there were stars on the choco brownie-cake. thanks ruth for the stars! thanks rachel for the cake! thanks everyone for the greeting!

22nd sept 2007
went down to sydney with qf, jess and juns. rented a navy blue yaris. cute! we had fun chats in the car and managed to reach sydney at 1230pm. woohoo! zilver for dimsum! but, we had to wait for 30mins. so we changed destination. marigold. its the worst dimsum i've ever had in sydney.. bad service, soyabean curd was hard. no hah gao and siu mai. how could anyone ever have dimsum without hah gao and siu mai?! well, after asking many waiters, they only said, "lai gan le, lai gan le...". and of cos, none appeared. bad bad bad... jess said their mango pudding is gooooood. there was lots of artificial flavouring to it! yuck! i'll never go back to that place!

next destination: RED BOX. KARAOKE! WOOHoooooooo~ we actually wanted to go to green box but it closed down. hahaha so unlucky. but we found a better one! red box! woohoo. there's an LCD tv, huge room for 4 of us, and many many MANY songs! sang for whole 3 hours.... we're like crazy and high ppl.... hahahah.

next destination: DOLCE RISTORANTE. italian restaurant. we walked, walked and walked in search of Philip Street. we cant find it... but managed to ask a passer-by for directions. and when we finally found it, IT WAS CLOSED AS IT ONLY SERVED LUNCHES. ahhhh sooooooo unlucky! mayb God wanted us to have something else.... hehe. we changed destination.... SPANISH FOOOD!! YUMM... we walked again.... good exercise though.

unplanned destination: SPANISH RESTAURANT (forgot the name). i've actually been there before. had butter rice with seafood and a portion of a suckling pig. sooooo fattening but it was soooooo gooooood!!!!!! even the garlic bread was good. yum yum.

next destination: MY BIRTHDAY CAKES. (notice the S. i've got 4 mini cakes. hehe) we went to 85degrees, a small and creative cake shop. they've got lotsa nice and pretty and tasty cakes! i chose a tiramisu, valentine, hokkaido cheesecake and a mango panna cotta. they looook fantastically delicious. hahahaha.

next destination: MAX BRENNER's. FINALLY A PLACE WHERE WE'D PLANNED BEFOREHAND AS WE DIDNT MANAGE TO HAVE DIMSUM AT ZILVER AND DINNER AT DOLCE. i guess we left the best for the last. although there was a loooooong queue, the choco managed to cover all our restlessness. THE CHOCOS WAS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. AWEEESOOOOME! we had an italian thick choco hug mug, capaccino frappe, whipped chocolate frappe, a chocolate dip with strawberries and a milk chocolate suckao. THE SUCKAO WAS THE BEST MAN! we were practically sucking melting milk chocolate from a metal straw. it was........ something i've never tried before. there's a candle below and we gotta put in round chocolate chips. we were all sooo fulll of choco after that and felt sleepy. hahaah HOWEVER, there's one more destination. heeh

last destination: DARLING HARBOUR. it's the first time that i'd spent my birthday at sydney's darling harbour. woohooo~ cold and singing the happy birthday song with seagulls surrounding us. haaha. they were actually aiming for my pretty cakes. thanks qf, jess and juns! muaccccks! we went into a shopping centre after that to have the cakes. they tasted gooooood! but was a little disappointed with the tiramisiu. the one at darby street newie is still the best tiramisiu that i've ever had! and its only 10bucks for a big piece! mmmmmm-mmmm! (i dont know how i should type that expression but thats a favourite phrase from boobies chow yun fat)

after that we headed back to newie. a long 2 hr drive but we girls got to sleeeep.... ZZZZzzzz. poor qf had to drive... awwww..... u're the man!!!!! great sydney trip. great ppl to celebrate my bday with. thank God for today!

it was a great day. went to nicky's place for lunch. she prepared everything! sushi filling etc etc. den we only went there to wrap them up. she's such a nice girl. after wrapping up we walked to the Blackbutt Reserve. it was a very short and chit-chatty walk. 5 of us (mich, serene, jess, juns and me) were gossiping, talking about random stuff. and the good thing was we chose somewhere shady and without BIRDS. but there were lots of duckies. hahaah. sorry mich, i attract duckies. we finally got to eat our nicely-wrapped sushi! not forgetting serene's chicken pie. not from scratch! she bought frozen dough and made the filling. well, as usual jess was the MAN. she climbed over a rope wall. i think it's called a rope wall but anyws, the main thing is she's tough. haah. walked back to nicky's place and had apple crumble with vanilla ice cream.. yum yum. and also dancing!! =)

many of us went to Istington Baptist church for its mid-autumn festival and outreach. it was all in chinese. kinda complicated as they used really bombarstic chinese words. anyws it was a good experience and they had good food! mooncakes, cheese cakes, many many more.. after that we went to darby street for a drink and talked alot alot... like the-ra-py.. dav's favourite. hee. well, jess suggested gg to the beach after that, so me, emm, ericA and dav went to a newcastle lookout. the night view was fantastic but a little scary when i looked out into the sea. cos you know, its really really dark and there're ppl who're having the-ra-py. (we guessed but werent that sure, ahah). we went to bar beach after that and were shouting out to the sea. something like 'yam seng, booobies....'. y boobies? cos of ericA...... haahhaha. ask him la. and we were concerting in dav's car. hillsongs.

i've been thinking that i've been spending too much time in FOCUS or rather, hanging out with FOCUS ppl. Lord, i ask that You would strengthen me. in all ways. be with me. thank You Lord. i hope FOCUS camp will be good. canberra trip will be fun. esp with dav, eric and jess. thanks guys for coming with us. 1 worry down. love ya FOCUS ppl.

AH HUH! TODAY'S SEPTEMBER 11TH!

FOCUS was fun yestd!! i dont know why, mayb its bcos dene isnt there? ops. dont tell him. hhaa. I DEFINITELY MISS HIS COFFEE! well, junshi and josh made good milo. although josh burnt the electric kettle and serene was the eye witness (without telling him that the kettle was an electric one).

we cooked yestd, and i forgot to bring mushrooms and matt had to go back to bara and then when we're at dene's place i realised i forgot all about the mixed vegetables and we ended up stealing dene's whole pack of PEAS. yuck! i didnt eat the peas anyws. hahaha.

bible study was goooooooood! esp with my group... heh. jess, juns, joyce and david. the loveable and fast-in-going-through-the-questions group. we even came up with a song on 1Peter 3:18. and actions too! with elmo as our inspiration. haha.

and the weirdest thing of all, yestd was like the only night in a blue moon that i wore thongs (slippers) to FOCUS. and guess what, i think about 5 things happened to my poor right foot.

1. Juns stepped on my pinkie toe but she was really sorry. i forgive you!

2. Serene splattered ice cream on my foot while trying to break. the wafer in her bowl into 2. i forgive you!

3. Jono totally stepped on my foot!!!! he's half-forgiven. hahaha

4. Jono, again, dropped a spoon and it almost hit my same foot! he's fully forgiven, i guess. hah

5. Joyce stepped on my foot! without shoes, thank God. Matt was trying to step on the back part of my thongs. naughty people.

it was great anyws. fun people!!!! our pasta was good too. esp the cute bows. hahah
today was great too. went to the gym. almost died but i felt lighter. hahahaa. making myself happy. had a good bible study too. the topics we talked about gave me lots to think on.

oh wells, i'm in school on a SATURDAY. kinda sad huh. what to do.... quizzes and assignments are due soon. anyws, had FOCUS yestd. it was good. we drew pictures on Genesis 19. it was an awkward chapter, especially the last part. hehehehehe... but we didnt draw that part actually. a good talk by dene. and lots of questions answered. had chinese food from oceanic. its weird actually, that aussies pronounce oceanic as oceeeeaaanic. they emphasize lots on the eeeaaa. well, they're aussies. auuuusssssies. AND! we played with Elliot the cute, intelligent prophet-to-be. he's always coming up with his new toys to play. and i'm glad that he did ask me to play with him. hehehe. hes soo cute that i'm thinking of abducting him someday, without dene and rachel knowing......

good weekend. sydney, food, shopping, hair cut, good weather, had fun. FOCUS today. weird. don't know why.

went charlestown yestd. saw krispy kreme. long queue. donuts.......

my soya bean curd turned sour. my strawberry white chocolate mousse was good.

good talks in the afternoon.

went to an italian restaurant yestd. good food. great salmon pasta. fantastic tiramisu. friendly boss.

went to a shop with interesting household stuff. expensive.

went to a shop with nice clothes and accessories. saw a fat cat. thought it was a fake one. i poked it and its head turned around. gave me a shock. but it was a cute lazy cat.

oh man, quizzes and assignments. so darn sick of them. i need rest. but its not like i'm not having any rest at all. i'm always youtubing and slacking and talking to people!?! i need to pull up my socks. i need to sleep early. i need to wake up early. i need to be determined. i need to be encouraged. i need to be encouraging. i need God.

well, thank God its the weekend soon. i wana go shopping! dim sum! jap food! woohoo! i hope the APEC summit is not going to cause much traffic jams or obstructions. i cant wait to go back to sg! spain & portugal & turkey! woohoo!

i need to do better. much much better. i cant let my parents down. i cant let God down. but i need alot of encouragement.

Just came back from FOCUS and it was as usual; good food (thanks juns and serene for the burritos & rachel's tomato and creamy chicken)+good talk on Galatians. the whole week was good overall. i had good conversations with people, especially amiki. we found that we've alot of things we can share! (you should know......). i've learnt alot of new chinese words from her. hahahh.
oh ya, i remembered something weird which happened on wednesday. i was having a lecture at CT202 and in the middle of the lecture, a guy in a shirt+tie walked in with a bottle of beer in his hand. i heard him saying, "knuckles..........knuckles....". i'm not really sure what he's trying to say but later on, he walked to the microphone where the lecturer was standing and reached out to it. the lecturer was trying to off the microphone but the attempt was unsuccessful and instead, the drunk guy asked, "why that? are you trying to off the mic? I WANT TO TALK TO THE PEOPLE!" lecturer got frantic and told him to stand in the middle and talk to us.
guess what he said, "DON'T BOTHER STUDYING ACCOUNTING! I'VE MADE A SHITLOAD OF MONEY RECENTLY JUST BY SELLING ECSTASY!"
people were laughing at him and he was persistent in getting his point conveyed to us. it was actually a good thing because it kinda woke me up. hahahah the lecturer was shocked too. he was trying to recall which slide he was lecturing on before the guy went in.
oh wells, i'm pretty into the anime, prince of tennis. cool tennis skills and techniques but kinda unrealistic. not sure why i'm still watching it. ahaah
awesome. peaceful. life to the full. thank God.

I suddenly feel that some people dont really care about their friends. sometimes a phrase of encouragement or affirmation will do wonders. I just remembered back in VFC pastor preached about being affirmative to the family in Christ and also the people around us. but sometimes i just feel that some people are receiving the encouragement and not giving them out? are friendships suppose to be like that? it has to be mutual!
oh wells, i guess life's like this. that's why God told us to be friendly to everyone no matter how they treat us.
i looked through some blogs and i dont really understand what's in there. people wrote those posts to make readers not understand what they're thinking? i thought a blog is a good medium to tell others what's going on in our lives. why make your blog so complicated?
anyways, THANKS JESS! love you sooo much. hahaha. a sentence of affirmation. THANKS JUNSHI! the sms was affirming. THANKS AMIKI! you're always there to cheer me up. THANK GOD! You brought me encouraging friends. i suddenly thought of a friend who rang me up to ask if i was okay during the newie flood. THANKS for the care. (i hope that yellow girl still remembers me... haha)

i think i'm kinda slow in coming to realise that i should blog. have been trying to keep up with friends but just couldn't find the time. sometimes i'm online while others aren't. i'm glad that i made a choice to start blogging (while my roomie has been trying to peep at what i'm typing..). oh wells, i've been surviving well in Australia. been attending church and bible studies and i think that's not enough. i've to start joining some ministries! talking about these, i've gone to a huge christian book store called Koorong last sat. too huge a store to finish looking through at all the books and listening to the CDs. [just digressing, hillsong's new CD saviour king is SO EXPENSIVE. AUD$30! sg sells for only $20].
i've been missing friends, rou, ting, xian, lies, penguin, joella, church pals etc etc. i miss all of youu!!! muacks. esp penguin who's there for me when i was emo (you know......)
and also thanks for the friends over here in Aust.
anyws, i've quizzes and assignments for the past and this 2 coming weeks. i hope everything will be fine. (i'm still procrastinating......).
it has been raining for the past day and today. so gloomy and sleepy. i dont know why that i've been so tired even thought i sleep 8 hours a day. i've been having random dreams and this isn't a good sign for me..... this spells trouble of having a good night of sleep.
wells, OVERALL, it has been a good experience for me in Aust. back on track with God and studies. i miss my mum's cooking....... sweet and sour pork!! yum.....
