Why?

I had a pretty weird conversation with a friend who's not a christian, on why christians are supposed to have christians as partners and what he said really struck me in the head....

-_- says: i believe that as long as a gd person who loves you and cherishes you. have the potential to be a gd dad and family man

-_- says: you shouldn't discount them base on the fact that they are not christians

-_- says:it's like discounting international students for internship opportunities because they are not PR

-_- says: you should know how it feels

Is God that cruel to make a really good person non-christian?
